DIGGS is provided by ASCE&#8217;s Geo-Institute and more information can be found on their website at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoinstitute.org\/special-projects\/diggs\">https:\/\/www.geoinstitute.org\/special-projects\/diggs<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Importing DIGGS Data<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Multiple borings\/wells can be imported from a single DIGGS format file. To import borehole data from a DIGGS format file, open a project and select File > Import > DIGGS Data. Specify the name of the file and click Open. The Select Boreholes form below will be displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"345\" height=\"569\" src=\"https:\/\/gaeatech.com\/knowledge-center\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-15.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-646\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gaeatech.com\/knowledge-center\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-15.png 345w, https:\/\/gaeatech.com\/knowledge-center\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-15-182x300.png 182w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 345px) 100vw, 345px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This form will show any existing boreholes in the file that are already in the project at the top. These boreholes will not be imported. At the bottom of the form boreholes that are not already in the project can be selected for import. After they have been selected, click on Ok. The next step is to specify the data to be imported. A wizard form is used to guide you through this process. This wizard guides you through the steps required to import the data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Importing DIGGS Borehole Information<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The first step is to specify the borehole header information to import. The table shown below can be used to specify what header text from the borehole template is used for each heading to be exported. To change the header text to be used click on it and select it from the combo box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"721\" height=\"639\" src=\"https:\/\/gaeatech.com\/knowledge-center\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-16.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-647\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gaeatech.com\/knowledge-center\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-16.png 721w, https:\/\/gaeatech.com\/knowledge-center\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-16-300x266.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 721px) 100vw, 721px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After the information has been entered, the Next button can be used to go to the next step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make this process easier if you are importing DIGGS files a lot, you can create and use scripts to set the display types. To create a new script with the current display type settings click on the Save Script button and enter a name for the script. To open and use an existing script, click on the Use Script button and select the script.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Importing DIGGS Lithology Information<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This step is used to specify the lithology information to be imported. The lithology field to be imported for each heading can be specified by clicking on it and selecting the field from the combo box. If the dataset is contained in the borehole template the type is shown in yellow. If the dataset is not in the template the type needs to be selected (these datasets will be imported but not displayed on the log).The checkbox on the right is used to determine if the dataset is to be included in the import.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the information has been entered, press the Finish button to complete the import.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exporting DIGGS Data<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Multiple borings and wells can be exported to a single DIGGS format file. To export borehole data to a DIGGS format file, open a project and select File > Export > DIGGS Data. Specify the name of the file and click Save. After they have been selected, click on Ok. The next step is to specify the data to be exported and add any additional information for the data. A wizard form is used to guide you through this process. This wizard guides you through the steps required to export the data and is discussed in the topics below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exporting DIGGS Project Information<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The first step is to specify any additional project information to be exported. The script file should only be saved after all of the export settings have been entered. To open and use an existing script file, click on the Use Script button and select the file. An existing script file should be opened prior to entering any export settings. Script files should have the extension &#8220;.scp&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exporting DIGGS Borehole Information<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This step is used to specify the borehole header information to export. The table shown below can be used to specify what header text from the borehole is used for each heading to be exported.
