Control<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>for all GaeaSynergy users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Improper permissions are one of the most common causes of connection and licensing issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-1-install-gaeasynergy-6\">Step 1 \u2014 Install GaeaSynergy 6<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Install Version 6 on the same computer currently running Version 4 or class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>Tools > Upgrade > From GaeaSynergy Version 4\/5<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>The upgrade process:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Copies existing data<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Converts databases<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adds new Version 6 tables<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preserves original Version 4\/5 data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The upgrade should be completed before or IP address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set the port number to: <code>3000<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The port number for the license manager should always be 3000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-important-notes\">Important Notes<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-do-not-run-version-4-5-and-version-6-services-together\">Do NOT Run Version 4\/5 and Version 6 Services Together<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After testing and validating Version 6:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Remove the old Version 4 network service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only run one licensing service at a time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Running both services simultaneously can create conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-avoid-overwriting-shared-databases\">Avoid Overwriting Shared
