With the GaeaSynergy License Manager and Network License Monitor, administrators can register licenses, add users, monitor activity, and control access to licensed modules such as WinLoG, WinFence, EDMS, and GDMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This guide explains how to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Install and configure the network license server<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Register a network license<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add and manage users<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Configure client computers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allow users to log into the network license system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The information in this article is based on the official GaeaSynergy License Manager User Guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-understanding-the-gaeasynergy-network-licensing-system\">Understanding the GaeaSynergy Network Licensing System<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GaeaSynergy supports both standalone and network licensing. In a network environment, licenses are managed using concurrent licensing, meaning multiple users can share a pool of licenses as long as the maximum licensed user count is not exceeded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The network licensing system consists of two components:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>GaeaSynergy License Manager Service<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Runs on the server<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Handles license requests and user authentication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operates in the background with no user interface<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>GaeaSynergy License Monitor<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Administrative interface<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Used to register licenses, manage users, and monitor activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-1-install-the-network-license-server\">Step 1 \u2013 Install the Network License Server<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before installing GaeaSynergy on client computers, the License Manager service should first be installed on the server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-install-the-license-manager\">Install the License Manager<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Download and run the network license setup from GAEA Technologies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><code>GaeaSynergy6_Network_License_Setup.exe<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During installation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The License Manager application is installed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The License Manager service is installed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Start menu shortcuts are created<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-configure-shared-folders\">Configure Shared Folders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The server folders containing the databases and datastore must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be shared on the network<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have <strong>Full Control<\/strong> permissions for all users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is critical to ensure all client computers can access the shared project databases and datastore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-start-the-license-service\">Start the License Service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The service can be started:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Automatically when the server boots<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or manually through the Windows Services Manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To start manually:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open <strong>Windows Control Panel<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open <strong>Administrative Tools<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open <strong>Services<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locate:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>GaeaSynergy 6 License Manager<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Start<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-2-install-gaeasynergy-on-client-computers\">Step 2 \u2013 Install GaeaSynergy on Client Computers<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Installing GaeaSynergy on a client workstation is similar to a standalone installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During setup:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select the <strong>Network<\/strong> option<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do NOT overwrite the shared databases and datastore already located on the server<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is recommended to keep the default local folders during installation and then configuring the shared network folders afterward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-3-configure-database-and-datastore-folders\">Step 3 \u2013 Configure Database and Datastore Folders<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img datastore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To configure this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Launch GaeaSynergy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Log in as an Administrator using:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Username: Admin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Password: admin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>File > Preferences<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the <strong>Datasources<\/strong> tab<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Database folder path<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Datastore folder path<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Point both locations to the shared server folders<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This ensures all users access the same centralized project data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To configure network licensing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>File > Preferences<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Network License<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Networked = Yes<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Server name or IP address<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set the port number to:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>3000<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the modules to request from the network<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The server information is displayed within the Network License Monitor application on the server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-5-register-the-network-license\">Step 5 \u2013 Register the Network License<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the server is installed, licenses must be registered before client modules will operate fully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlicensed modules will run in demo mode until registration is completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-open-the-license-manager\">Open the License Manager<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image
