GAEA Synthetic Map Digitization Example

Purpose
-------
This package demonstrates a possible layer and attribute structure for a
digitized geological map. All geometry, coordinates, names and attributes are
synthetic. The package is provided for workflow evaluation only and must not be
used for surveying, engineering design, regulatory submission or geological
interpretation.

Coordinate reference system
---------------------------
EPSG:4326 - WGS 84 longitude and latitude in decimal degrees.

Delivery notes
--------------
Production projects may be delivered as GeoPackage, Esri Shapefile, GeoJSON,
KML/KMZ, DXF, georeferenced GeoTIFF or CSV according to the agreed scope. The
coordinate reference system, datum, units, feature schema, topology rules,
attribute requirements and QA/QC acceptance criteria should be confirmed
before digitization.

Image-derived limitation
------------------------
Digitization reproduces information visible in the supplied map. It does not
increase the inherent positional or thematic accuracy of the source. Accuracy
is affected by source scale, printing and scanning distortion, map condition,
control-point quality, transformation method and interpretation of indistinct
features.
