GaeaSynergy License Management

License GaeaSynergy for One User or an Entire Team

Register purchased modules, manage concurrent access and understand license activity from a clear administrative workflow.

Choose a single-user installation for one workstation or a network license that shares concurrent module access across authorized users.

Choose the License Model That Fits Your Workflow

Both options provide access to the purchased GaeaSynergy modules. The difference is how that access is assigned and shared.

Individual Workstation

Single-User License

Register the purchased modules directly for a designated workstation and user workflow.

  • Simple local installation and registration
  • No license server required
  • Suitable for an individual user or dedicated computer
  • Modules activated according to the purchased license
  • Direct access without checking out a network seat
Concurrent Team Access

Network License

Make a defined number of concurrent module licenses available to authorized users across client workstations.

  • Central License Manager service
  • Network License Monitor for administrators
  • Concurrent allocation of purchased module seats
  • Central user and activity visibility
  • Flexible access for teams with varying demand

How Concurrent Licensing Works

A network client authenticates with the License Manager service and requests access to the GaeaSynergy module it needs. If a purchased concurrent seat is available, the service allocates it to that session. The seat becomes available to another authorized user after it is released.

  • Share purchased seats across multiple installed clients
  • Control which users can connect to the network environment
  • See active allocations and module availability
  • Identify locks or sessions that may need administrator review
  • Review historical license activity and usage patterns

License Administration Capabilities

GaeaSynergy separates background license allocation from the administrative tools used to configure and monitor the environment.

Module Registration

Register the purchased GaeaSynergy base application and optional modules using the applicable license information and registration workflow.

Concurrent Allocation

Automatically grant an available network seat when an authorized user opens a licensed module and return it when access is released.

Network Users

Add and maintain the user accounts required for authenticated access to a GaeaSynergy network installation.

Active License Visibility

See which licenses are currently allocated, which users hold them and what capacity remains available.

Lock Review

Inspect active locks and session information when an administrator needs to diagnose unavailable or interrupted access.

Events and Usage History

Review login, license and activity records to understand demand, investigate issues and plan future capacity.

See Network License Activity in One Place

The Network License Monitor gives administrators a current view of the service, purchased modules, users, license allocations, locks and recorded activity.

  • Confirm the licensing service is available
  • Review purchased modules and concurrent capacity
  • See who is connected and which modules are in use
  • Investigate locks and interrupted sessions
  • Use history to understand recurring demand

Single-User and Network Licensing Compared

Select the model based on how many people need access, whether seats must be shared and who will administer the installation.

Plan a Reliable Network Deployment

Coordinate the license service, shared data locations and client preferences before rolling the software out to users.

1

Prepare the Server

Select the Windows server or host for the License Manager service, databases and shared datastore.

2

Install and Register

Install the current service and License Monitor, then register the purchased modules using the supplied credentials.

3

Configure Users

Add authorized network users and verify that shared folders and required network communication are available.

4

Connect and Test

Set the server information on each client and test login, module checkout, release and project access.

Administrator note: Network settings can change between product generations. Use the current Version 6 installation guide or contact GAEA Support for the required service, firewall and client-preference settings; do not rely on an older version’s port or directory instructions.
